Faithful Character Cultivation
We focus on nurturing strong godly character in Whitefield students through intentional discipleship, preparing candidates to become humble, servant-leaders in their local and cross-cultural ministries. Is the student’s spiritual condition genuinely Christ-centered? That’s the heart-level focus of all three of the Disciplers we pair up with his/her sending church’s leadership in life-on-life discipleship of each student. A key question for each of us is: does my spiritual walk with Christ reflect Him well and show the world that we are His disciples as we love one another?
Emphasis on Local Church Partnership
We underscore the significance of being a part of and partnering with local churches in all our ministry endeavors. This comes by recognizing the foundational role churches play in fulfilling the Great Commission and advancing the kingdom of God globally. Healthy local churches sending qualified, spiritually healthy servants to help build healthy local churches-that’s the powerful plan of Christ for His church.
Reaching the Lost
There are still more than four thousand groups of people unreached with gospel and hundreds of languages and dialects that do not have the Word of God in their tongue. Through God’s sovereign plan and timing, new servants of Christ are equipped to proclaim the biblically-sound good news of salvation in Christ alone through faith alone to reach the souls of lost people. The message and methodology that missionaries and leaders employ must be equally as glorifying to God as that hoped-for outcome. That outcome is a healthy local church in the New Testament model that Christ ordained. That is the platform from which we can best reach and teach those still at enmity with God.
Anchored in Scripture
Depth of doctrinal roots is essential to this vision each step of the way. Good doctrine ought to drive the way we evangelize and then disciple new believers, just as it ought to be the driving force of those who send, support and pray for missionaries. Embracing Scripture’s parameters is equally foundational for servants who reach those with little or no access to the gospel. It’s an approach that wisely slows missionaries down to patiently pursue spiritual depth over rapid multiplication. And that fosters long-term, durable church growth. It takes patience for biblically-qualified indigenous leaders to emerge. Biblical fidelity is critical, not only in preaching, but in the translation of the Bible and other resources.
